During our 2024 Gala Dinner, we announced that Boomerang Cardoff is our charity of the year for 2025. This means that all of our fundraising efforts from concerts and events for the year will be donating towards this worthy cause.
At the dinner, Boomerang's founder Paul Gwilym spoke to us about this worthy cause and his inspiring journey.
Boomerang Cardiff started its journey as a homeless organisation, helping citizens that live on the streets who still deserve a little dignity, however the journey developed moving in different directions, whilst still keeping its identity with regards to tackling poverty.
Following a period of falling on hard times and experiencing homelessness as a self-employed businessman, founder Paul Gwilym began to work with the local community, creating and funding the project himself.
Under the umbrella of Boomerang Cardiff, there are now FIVE sections to the project: homelessness and the revention of homelessness, poverty and in work poverty, community engagement and education, social isolation and loneliness and physical wellbeing.
Boomerang Cardiff focus on the needs of the community from all suburbs of Cardiff and work with the community in a number of ways; as a charitable organisation they work hand in hand with the community to support/prevent homelessness and they also aim to help and support local people and families that are down on their luck, quickly and efficiently, working to promote, benefit and empower the inhabitants of Cardiff. Their aims are simple, to provide help to people who need it and fast.
Having previously raised £7800 for St. David's Hospice and more than £3000 for the Jacob Abraham Foundation, we're so glad to be supporting Boomerang Cardiff in 2025.
